Who we are

OptionsDeck Research is the in-house quantitative options team that authors every guide in the /learn hub and every post on the /blog. Our work informs the methodology embedded in the OptionsDeck AI Strategist itself — the same framework that scores trades, classifies regimes, and structures defined-risk ideas for paying operators.

What we cover

  • Dealer positioning (GEX) — how market-maker hedging shapes intraday tape
  • Implied volatility regimes — IV rank, term structure, vol surface skew
  • Options flow analysis — separating institutional positioning from retail noise
  • Strategy mechanics — when each defined-risk structure has positive expectancy
  • Macro-driven event playbooks — FOMC, CPI, NFP, earnings, OPEX

Our methodology

  1. Data-first. Every claim references either market-microstructure mechanics or backtested statistics. We don't publish "feelings about the market."
  2. Defined-risk bias. We don't promote naked options selling, infinite-loss structures, or get-rich-quick narratives. The guides emphasize structures retail traders can size and survive.
  3. Failure honesty. Every strategy guide includes a "what kills this trade" section. The educational value of knowing how a trade dies is higher than the educational value of knowing how it wins.
  4. Source attribution. Real-time data flows through the OptionsDeck Direct Feed — an institutional Tier-1 options + equity stack with millisecond NBBO and full OPRA tape. Historical data spans 5+ years for backtester reference. AI inference runs on OptionsDeck Core — a two-tier reasoning engine (Core Pulse for fast streaming, Core Apex for high-conviction synthesis) with deterministic context pre-processing and structured-output validation.

Editorial standards

Every guide is reviewed for accuracy against current market data before publishing. Articles are versioned and updated when methodology evolves. Where a guide makes a probability or expected-value claim, the underlying calculation or source is referenced.

This site does not publish content from undisclosed AI generators, content farms, or unattributed contractors. OptionsDeck Research is the sole author of all educational material at /learn and /blog.

Frequently asked questions

Who is OptionsDeck Research?

OptionsDeck Research is the in-house editorial team responsible for every guide, methodology document, and tape read published on optionsdeck.ai. The team is composed of active options operators with backgrounds in market-making, prop trading, and quantitative research. Every guide is reviewed by at least two operators before publication.

What's the editorial process?

Each guide goes through three passes: (1) a senior operator drafts the practical methodology and trade examples; (2) a second operator reviews for technical accuracy — Greek math, GEX mechanics, IV regime reasoning; (3) a final pass tests every linked tool, calculator, and dashboard reference to make sure the content stays in sync with the live product.

How is this different from a typical options-trading blog?

Most options content is either entry-level explainer material that never reaches operator-grade nuance, or paywalled institutional research that's inaccessible to retail. OptionsDeck Research sits in the middle: free, but operator-grade. Every guide assumes you understand the basics and goes straight to the structural edges institutions actually trade.

Do you take guest contributions?

Occasionally — primarily from active prop traders or market-makers with a specific edge they want to write up. Pitches go to editorial@optionsdeck.ai. We do not run sponsored content, affiliate placements, or PR-disguised-as-research. Every guide that ships is editorial product, paid for by OptionsDeck.

How can I get in touch?

Editorial pitches, errata, or methodology questions: editorial@optionsdeck.ai. Product or account support: support@optionsdeck.ai. We answer every email personally, usually within a few hours.
